ABOUT MO
With over 25 years in the corporate and education sectors, Mo is a corporate executive with experience leading organizations and teams to achieve aspirational goals and is sought out as a career coach and advisor to individuals at all stages of their career.
CAREER & LEADERSHIP COACHING
Mo is passionate about helping mid-career professionals and senior executives who are leading in times of change, accelerating in their current role or looking to make a career pivot and students just beginning their career journey to chart their career paths. She draws from her own experiences in simultaneously building and leading teams while navigating through life changes including caregiving for children and elderly parents. Mo provides the empathetic coaching that helps leaders understand not only how to pivot to new situations but also discover their own superpowers.
Mo is currently on the Harvard Business School Coaching staff, Stanford University BEAM (Bridging Education, Ambition, and Meaningful Work) mentor, and a Google “Career Guru” and “Manager Guru.” She has helped hundreds of clients discover their true interests and values with guiding principles on how to chart their career and life ambitions. Upon completion of the coaching program, clients have the clarity of vision and confidence to pursue their purpose and achieve their full potential in life and work.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Mo has been at Google for over 14 years as a Sr. Director of gTech User and Products and has led teams supporting Google’s biggest bets such as Google Assistant and Google Search. Most recently, she is supporting users of Google for Education products such as Classroom as 1.6 billion students throughout the globe shifted to distance learning. Throughout her career, Mo has also been an advocate for equity in education from serving as the former Executive Director of the Stanford Educational Leadership Initiative transforming large school districts and their approach to teaching and learning to directing Google’s CS Education efforts to “help every student access the quality education they deserve” focusing on inspiring and retaining under-represented students in computer science. In her first seven years at Google, she worked on Google Payments as a program manager and became the Director and global Chief Compliance Officer. Prior to Google, Mo worked at PayPal in risk management and was the Executive Director of the Stanford Educational Leadership Initiative She was also an administrator and high school teacher in the Bay Area at the Fremont Union High School District. Mo holds a BS in Chemical Engineering and MA in Education from Stanford University and MBA from Harvard Business School.
COMMUNITY
Mo also supports the Asian community through the Stanford Asian Pacific American Alumni Club (SAPAAC), TOPPA, Ascend, and ERGs and advises education start-ups and organizations such as LightUP.io, Hack the Gap, National Girls Collaborative Project, and 100kin10. She lives in California with her husband and two sons (10 and 12 years old).
